How to change the app language

Two ways to switch the Slowdive app language: the in-app setting (recommended) and the phone's system language (fallback).

How to change the app language in Slowdive

There are two ways to switch the language of the Slowdive app:

  1. The in-app language setting inside Slowdive itself. This is the recommended path because it changes only Slowdive without affecting the rest of your phone.

  2. Your phone's system language. This works too: Slowdive follows the device language when its own in-app language is set to default. If the in-app switch is not reachable for any reason, the device-level system language is a valid fallback.

To use the in-app setting you must be logged in with an active subscription.

Recommended: change the language inside the Slowdive app

On iOS / iPadOS

  1. Make sure you are logged in to the Slowdive app with an active subscription.

  2. Open the Slowdive app.

  3. On the bottom navigation bar, tap the third icon from the right. This is the Settings icon, typically a gear or person silhouette depending on app version.

  4. On the Settings screen, scroll to find Language.

  5. Tap Language.

  6. Select your preferred language from the list. A banner will appear telling you that the app needs to restart to apply the new language, and Slowdive will restart automatically and reopen in the selected language.

On Android

Fallback: change your phone's system language

Use this path only if you cannot reach the in-app Settings screen, for example when the app is showing a language you do not understand and you cannot identify the Settings icon. Changing the device language is equivalent in effect: Slowdive will pick up the new system language on next launch.

  • On iPhone / iPad: open the device Settings app, go to GeneralLanguage & RegioniPhone Language, select your language, then confirm.

  • On Android: open the device Settings app, go to SystemLanguagesAdd a language, then drag your language to the top of the list.

After changing the system language, reopen the Slowdive app. In most cases iOS or Android will restart the app from the tray automatically, but if Slowdive does not pick up the new language right away, fully close the app by swiping it away from the recent apps, then reopen it.

Important: where the language switch is NOT located

There is no per-app language menu for Slowdive in your phone settings. The Slowdive language switch is inside the app itself. It is not in iOS Settings → Slowdive → Language and not in Android Settings → Apps → Slowdive → Language. Change the Slowdive language either through the in-app Settings screen described above, or, as a fallback, through your phone's overall system language.

Notes

If you cannot find Language in Settings, describe which icons you see in the bottom navigation bar, or share a screenshot of your app's main screen so we can guide you to the correct icon.

The available languages depend on the app version. If your language is missing, update the app from the App Store or Google Play and check again.
